Well folks, I’m clearly behind on posting my 2018 goals. Do you see now why I’m always saying I’m terrible about New Year’s Resolutions? I’d hoped doing things this way would keep me accountable but in the end, it didn’t work as well as I’d hoped. Here’s my 2018 goals fourth quarter – and year end – check in.
Overall Goal: Resolve.
Goal: Travel more locally.
A. I’ve definitely traveled within both Spain and Europe since arriving! I’ve been to La Coruña and Segovia within Spain and then Frankfurt, Prague, Vienna and Bratislava outside of Spain! More on those trips soon!
Goal: Visit Europe again and hopefully work with tourism boards or travel companies there.
I’m going to count this as null because I live here now 🙂
Goal: Spend more time taking care of myself.
C. I have really struggled with taking care of myself, but I have done a better job of guarding my time. I’ve said no a bit more and tried to focus on what I really want, but my workouts went down the tubes when the weather got cooler.
Goal: Be more open (in my personal relationships).
A! Spain has brought out some kind of inner confidence in me and I’m so much more open now! I also feel like I’m just a better, more whole human here. Can’t really say why though.
Goal: Write more.
F. The fact that I’m writing this in January 2019 says it all.
Overall:
I guess the average would be a B? That’s not too bad considering I completely lost sight of priorities in the fourth quarter of 2018. The move and holidays really threw me for a loop and I had a tough time adjusting to a new routine here in Madrid. Overall though, 2018 was an excellent year. I accomplished a ton and have definitely set myself up for success!
